How To Use

1. Download

Download the “Token Transit” app from Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iPhone).

2. Purchase

Select an Xpress One-Way, Round Trip, 10-Trip, or 31-Day pass.

3. Activate

When you are ready to ride, tap your pass to activate. All passes are stored in your Token Transit account.

4. Ride

As you board the bus in the morning or alighting in the evening, hold your phone near the Token Transit validator. Listen for the beep and green/blue light and you are ready to ride!

Use Your Phone for an Xpress Ride!

Your phone can be used for Xpress ticketing using a mobile app called “Token Transit.

The Token Transit App is a great alternative to cash, helps you board faster and easily manage your bus fare from your mobile device.  Use a credit card or Apply Pay to purchase BBB single ride and monthly passes from anywhere!

Xpress Passes can be purchased from the app for immediate use, or if you’re planning ahead, stored on Token Transit for future use.

Be Advised

If you plan on using Token Transit for Xpress trips, here are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind:

Xpress routes will have a fare classification as either Green or Blue Zone, depending on the Park and Ride location the route serves. Routes serving Park and Ride locations further away from Atlanta are in the Blue Zone, while those routes serving locations closer to Atlanta are in the Green Zone.

At this time, Token Transit can be used only on Xpress as a valid form of fare payment, it is not valid for transfer to or from MARTA services.  If you need to transfer you use a breeze smartcard, purchase your Xpress Passes on breeze here.

Be sure to load your pass on your smartphone prior to boarding your Xpress Coach.

Wait until the bus approaches the stop before activating your pass.

FAQs

I don't have a credit or debit card. Can I go to the Xpress Store with cash or a check to pay for and load passes onto the app?

No. The only form of payment accepted on Token Transit is credit or debit card. If you prefer other payment methods, then a breezecard may be a better option for you.  You can purchase Breeze cards at the Peach Pass/Xpress Retail Center at our Xpress retail center located at
245 Peachtree Center Avenue, NE, Atlanta, GA, 30303, or Breeze vending machines located in MARTA rail stations.

Can I request a refund?

Passes are not transferable or replaceable. All sales are final. However, if you experience technical issues, please get in touch with Token Transit through the app’s help menu or at https://support.tokentransit.com

When do I need an internet connection?

An internet connection is required in order to purchase your pass. An internet connection is also required to use your pass for the first time, and to refresh once every 90 minutes thereafter.

Does this work with breeze? Are they connected?

No, Token Transit is separate from breeze, it is just another way to pay to ride Xpress Bus services without using cash.

Using Breeze with Xpress Green and Blue Zone

Using Breeze with Xpress Green and Blue Zone Please note only one fare product per agency can be active on the Breeze card. If a Green Zone fare product is loaded on the card and the card is used for a route serving a Blue Zone, the farebox will automatically deduct the upcharge from the stored cash value or prompt the rider to pay the $1 upcharge. Riders always have the option of paying the full fare price in cash when they board the coach.

Can I buy transfers to MARTA using Token Transit?

No,  Token Transit does not not sell transfers from Xpress service to or from MARTA, when using Token Transit, you must purchase a MARTA pass to transfer from Xpress to MARTA, or use your breezecard to transfer from MARTA to Xpress for free.
